Abstract | We present a measurement of the muon momentum resolution in the first pass reconstruction of ATLAS pp collision data in 2010, which uses preliminary calibration and alignment constants. The measurement is based on a sample of 41/pb of LHC pp collision data at sqrt(s)=7 TeV collected with muon triggers. The momentum resolution is extracted from the width of the di-muon mass distribution in Z->mu,mu decays and the comparison of the independent measurements of muons from Z->mu,mu and W->mu,nu decays provided by the ATLAS tracking systems, Inner Detector and Muon Spectrometer. |
