Abstract | The ability to identify jets containing b-hadrons is important for the physics program of ATLAS. This capability relies on the precise measurements of the parameters of charged tracks provided by the ATLAS Inner Detector. Using the 7 TeV collision data collected by the experiment in early 2010 and improved alignment and a more precise error description with respect to previous data taking periods, the tracking performance of the ATLAS Inner Detector has been assessed. Some of the studies relevant for b-tagging are discussed in this note, in particular the track properties and notably the impact parameter resolution. |
