Introduction

The W3C Council is the body convened to resolve Formal Objections and hear Submission Appeals, by combining the capabilities and perspectives of the Advisory Board (AB), the Technical Architecture Group (TAG), and the Team, and is tasked with doing so in the best interests of the Web and W3C. The role was previously handled separately by the W3C Director, the TAG or the AB.
