UCLA Health patients have the right to receive personalized and family-centered health care without discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity or expression and to designate their partner or child as a visitor, regardless of legal recognition. LGBTQ+ Champions
UCLA Health is dedicated to delivering compassionate, inclusive and equitable care to support all of our patients, including our diverse LGBTQ+ community. Providers who have a particular interest and expertise in various aspects of care for the LGBTQ+ community have been designated with "Rainbow U" LGBTQ+ Champion designation. CARE
Since AIDS was first described at UCLA hospital, a multispecialty team of experts have been caring for people affected by HIV/AIDS. We offer HIV treatment and prevention, primary care, high resolution anoscopy, medical case management, ADAP enrollment and Ryan White services for the uninsured. EMPWR Program
The EMPWR (“empower”) Program is an initiative of the UCLA Division of Population Behavioral Health designed to promote well-being and resilience in LGBTQ+ children, teenagers, and adults. EMPWR provides a safe, affirming environment for LGBTQ+ clients with mental health concerns related to stressful and/ or traumatic experiences. For more information, visit EMPWR site.
Vine Street
The UCLA Vine St Clinic conducts research that focuses on the health of men-who-have-sex-with-men (MSM), transgender and gender non-binary persons, including cohort studies and trials of behavioral and pharmacological treatments that target addiction, HIV and other infectious diseases. UCLA Committee on LGBTQ+ Affairs
LGBTQ+ Affairs was initially established in the early 1980’s as the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on LGBTQ+ Issues to create and maintain a more inclusive and accepting campus environment for individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. The committee morphed over time to function as the advisory board to the LGBTQ+ Center, a department of student affairs, focused on serving students in the UCLA Community.

The Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is the national LGBTQ+ benchmarking tool that evaluates healthcare facilities' policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of their LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and employees.
Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Center
The Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Center is one of the largest and most experienced providers of LGBTQ+ health and mental healthcare, supported by a research team working to advance the care and treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people.
CDC LGBTQ+ Health
People who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBTQ+) are members of every community. They are diverse, come from all walks of life, and include people of all races and ethnicities, all ages, all socioeconomic statuses, and from all parts of the United States. The perspectives and needs of LGBTQ+ people should be routinely considered in public health efforts to improve the overall health of every person and eliminate health disparities. World Professional Association for Transgender Health brings together diverse professionals dedicated to developing best practices and supportive policies worldwide that promote health, research, education, respect, dignity, and equality for transgender, transsexual, and gender-variant people in all cultural settings.
Transgender Law Center
Transgender Law Center works to change law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression.
National Center for Transgender Equality
The National Center for Transgender Equality is a national social justice advocacy organization for transgender people.
National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center
The National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center is a part of The Fenway Institute and provides educational programs, resources, and consultation to health care organizations.
The Trevor Project
The Trevor Project is determined to end suicide among LGBTQ+ youth by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources including our nationwide, 24/7 crisis intervention lifeline, digital community and advocacy/educational programs that create a safe, supportive and positive environment for everyone. Transforming Families
An LA-based family support group creating a positive environment for children, adolescents and their families to explore issues of gender identity.
Programs include:

- Elementary Play Group (5-11)
Los Angeles LGBTQ+ Center Trans Lounge
An educational, empowerment, and social program serving the LA trans community. Anyone who identifies as trans is welcome to join the Trans Lounge. Membership is free of charge. Programs include an incredible breadth of workshops, labs, and support groups.
TransYouth Family Allies
An organization that empowers children and families by partnering with educators, service providers and communities to develop supportive environments in which gender may be expressed and respected. TYFA has resource materials as web pages and printable PDFs for parents.
PFLAG Los Angeles
Uniting people who are LGBTQ+ with families, friends, and allies, PFLAG is committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education, and advocacy. PFLAG’s Los Angeles aims to make a safe place for people to come and talk about their experiences relating to sexual orientation and gender identity.
PFLAG Transgender Network
National website for PFLAG transgender communities and for family, friends, and allies of transgender persons. With commitment a threefold mission statement of support, education, and advocacy.
Trans Lifeline
A non-profit dedicated to the well being of transgender people with a crisis hotline staffed by transgender people for transgender people. All ages.
California Safe School Coalition
Legal protection for students from discrimination and harassment based on actual and perceived sexual orientation and gender identity. Research briefs documenting issues of school safety for students in California schools.
