John d'Arundel was born on 30 November 1364.2 He was the son of John d'Arundel, 1st Lord Arundel and Eleanor Mautravers, Baroness Mautravers.1 He married Elizabeth Despenser, daughter of Edward le Despenser, 1st Lord le Despenser and Elizabeth Burghersh, before 1385.2,3 He died on 14 August 1390 at age 25.1 He was buried at Missenden AbbeyG.2
He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Arundel [E., 1377] on 16 December 1379, although he was never summoned to Parliament.2 He gained the rank of officer in 1383 in the British Army in Scotland.2 He gained the rank of officer in 1388 in the English Fleet.2
