This infographic series presents an overview of the strides and struggles of Indonesian women in education, employment and politics. By visualizing these dynamics, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of how women are shaping, and being shaped by, the societal structures around them.

EDUCATION

It is a women’s world in the education sector, with girls beating boys when it comes to proficiency in various subjects, and women far outnumbering men when it comes to teachers and principals.

In the 2022 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) research project, which evaluated the performance of 15-year-old students, female Indonesian students outperformed their male counterparts in mathematics, science and reading.
