NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE

COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF BROOKVILLE

JEFFERSON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Borough of Brookville, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, at a regular meeting to be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m., at Council Chambers located at 18 Western Avenue, Suite A, Brookville, Pennsylvania, intends to adopt the following ordinances which are summarized as follows:

Ordinance Number 1118 – An Ordinance levying a tax on all real property within the said municipality subject to taxation for fiscal year 2025 as follows: Tax rate for general purposes, the sum of 17.29 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation; for street lighting purposes, the sum of 1.20 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation; for fire protection purposes, the sum of 1.90 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation, and for library purposes, the sum of 0.50 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation, for a total of 20.89 mills on real property. The Ordinance also levies a tax on all occupations within said municipality subject to taxation for the fiscal year 2025 as follows: The rate for general purposes, the sum of 30.0 mills on each dollar assessed valuation; for street lighting purposes, the sum of 3.0 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation; for fire protection purposes, the sum of 3.0 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation for a total of 36.0 mills on all occupations. The Ordinance also levies a Local Services Tax of $52.00 on all residents of the said municipality

Any and all interested parties may appear. Attested copies of the proposed ordinance have been filed in the Jefferson County Library in the Jefferson County Courthouse, Brookville, Pennsylvania, and also in the office of the Borough Manager.
