Unemployment is at a four year low and the Dow Jones industrial average is on the rise. Yet gasoline prices are rising and voters are still nervous about the current recovery. Should voters reward Obama for prowess, or blame him for the economy's ongoing challenges? And how do the voters feel about the Republican alternatives? Join a panel of students and experts for a discussion about the economy and its impact on the presidential race. Obama For America Summer Internship
Our spring internship is an opportunity for students and graduates to gain hands-on experience with a United States presidential campaign and strengthen their skills as future leaders. Spring interns with Obama For America will learn firsthand about the grassroots efforts that drive our campaign and how what we do here at headquarters facilitates our actions in the states. The application deadline is March 1st, 2012. Interviews and selections will take place shortly after the deadline. Applicants will be informed no later than April 15th, 2012. Our program will run from May 29, 2012 to August 17, 2012. We have several departments on the campaign and internships will be available in each of them. Scheyer Family Scholarship for Summer Interns
The Scheyer Family Scholarship for Summer Interns, established in December of 2007, will provide an award of $2,500 to two students enrolled in approved summer internships. Preference will be given to sophomores, juniors or seniors with demonstrated financial need. Student recipients must have a major in the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts & Sciences and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students must be in good academic standing and must have a graduation date between December 2012 and May 2015. Students must have an internship prior to applying for this scholarship. Relief International (RI) Internship
Relief International (RI) is a leading global change organization and home to teams of humanitarian activist-professionals committed to transforming adversity into renewal for the worlds most vulnerable populations. By partnering with beneficiaries and communities on the front-lines, RI innovatively bridges the gap between immediate relief and long-term community development. We have internship opportunities available year-round to currently enrolled college students pursuing careers in the non- profit world, Finance, IT, Human Resources, Procurement/ Operations, Communications, and other related fields. Our internship program is designed to provide students with an educational experience that complements their academic studies and provides an opportunity to observe and participate in the daily work and operation of the professional and non- profit world. Internships may include paid positions or a transportation stipend for unpaid internships. A minimum of 15 hours per week and a minimum commitment of 3 months are required for paid internships.
