Introductory Message
This Contextualized Learning Module (CLM) is prepared so that you,
our dear learners, can continue your studies and learn while at home.
Activities, questions, directions, exercises, and discussions are carefully
stated for you to understand each lesson with ease.

This CLM is composed of different parts. Each part shall guide you
step-by-step as you discover and understand the lesson prepared for you.
Pre-test is provided to measure your prior knowledge on the lesson.
This will show you if you need to proceed in completing this module or if you
need to ask your facilitator or your teacher’s assistance for better
understanding of the lesson. At the end of this module, you need to answer
the post-test to self-check you’re learning. Answer keys are provided for all
activities and tests. We trust that you will be honest in using them.
In addition to the material in the main text, Notes to the Teacher is also
provided to our facilitators and parents for strategies and reminders on how
they can best help you in your home-based learning.
Please use this module with care. Do not put unnecessary marks on
any part of this CLM. Use a separate sheet of paper in answering the exercises
and tests. Likewise, read the instructions carefully before performing each
task.

and Week 4):

2 Health Career Pathways

Welcome to Health
Quarter 4. In this lesson
you will get to know the
importance of personal
health careers in
preparation to health
care-related works.

Do you have family members, relatives, or friends who have health


careers? What have you observed in them? Do they look happy? Do you dream
of becoming like them? Well, in this lesson, we will find out all of the answers
to the said questions.
Health careers are getting important nowadays because of the
abundance of healthcare-related works. People are becoming more and more
health conscious and they put health as a priority in their lives. Those who
work in the prevention and cure of illnesses or injuries are considered
important.
Health care jobs are in demand everywhere. Health care workers can go
places and have the chance to meet different people every day including
patients, doctors, and medical staffs. It is a fulfilling job because it can make
a difference in people’s lives.

refers to an individual’s plan to make a career choice, growing in the chosen

of self-assessment.

1. PERSONAL HEALTH CARE

These services include


companionship and assistance to
people who need to remain safe and
who need to engage in a day-to-day
activity. It also considers non-medical
or private duty or caregivers.

2. MATERNAL and CHILD CARE


Maternal health is concerned
with the health of women during
pregnancy, childbirth, and
postpartum period. It also includes
other health concerns that helps to

It is a field of science that
