that goods and materials are moved effectively and efficiently
from one location to another.

Transportation is responsible for physically moving goods and

materials from one location to another. This can be done via
various means of transportation, such as trucks, trains, planes,
and ships. Transportation must be carefully planned in order to
ensure that goods arrive at their destination safely and on time.

or online retailers.
Brief History of Logistics Industry in India

The logistics industry in India has a long and rich history, dating
back to ancient times. The first recorded use of logistics in India
was in the military campaigns of Alexander the Great, who used
elephants to transport supplies and troops across the country. In
the centuries that followed, logistics became an integral part of
Indian society, with many different types of businesses and
organizations using it to move goods and services around the
country.

Today, the logistics industry in India is booming, thanks to the

country’s rapidly growing economy. This growth is being driven
by a number of factors, including the increasing demand for e-
commerce and online shopping, the expansion of the retail
sector, and the government’s infrastructure development
initiatives.

With its vast population and large geographical size, India

presents a unique challenge for logistics companies. But as the
country’s economy continues to grow, so too will the demand
for efficient and reliable logistics services.

Key Trends in the Logistics Industry

1. The rise of e-commerce: E-commerce is booming in India,

and this is having a major impact on the logistics industry.
Online shopping is growing at an incredible rate, and this is
leading to a huge increase in demand for logistics services.
2. The growth of online grocery shopping: Along with e-
commerce, online grocery shopping is also growing rapidly
in India. This is another area where logistics companies are
seeing a big increase in demand for their services.
3. The rise of last-mile delivery: Last-mile delivery is
becoming increasingly important in the logistics industry, as
companies strive to get orders delivered to customers as
quickly and efficiently as possible.
4. The growth of express delivery: Express delivery is
another area where the logistics industry is seeing strong
growth. With customers expecting ever-faster delivery times,
logistics companies are working hard to meet this demand.
5. The rise of reverse logistics: Reverse logistics is also
becoming increasingly important, as more and more
companies focus on ensuring that returns are handled
efficiently.

Human Resource Department

An HR department is an essential component of any business,

regardless of an organization’s size. It is tasked with
maximizing employee productivity and protecting the company
from any issues that may arise within the workforce. HR
responsibilities include compensation and benefits, recruitment,
retention, firing, and keeping up to date with any laws that may
affect the company and its employees.

The following is the organizational structure of Shree Shyam

only executive working in the entire department. The tasks
performed by this department includes recruiting, motivating,
training, payroll, maintaining salary and attendance file and
soon.
These are some of the main tasks which the HR manager has to
do.
Recruitment
The typical manual hiring process is done at SSRC logistics
which consists of the following stages:

 Posting your job advert on careers site and other relevant

job boards and job listing websites, as well as sharing it on your
social media pages.
 Manually reviewing and evaluating each and every
application.
 Screening candidates to find suitable ones to bring forward
to the interview.

Training
The HR department looks after the training of every employee
no matter it's anew employ or an existing employee. Existing
employee are trained especially when they need to be introduced
to some new technology or when their supervisor asks for it.
New employees go through an orientation program and get
trained by their supervisors of respective departments.

Performance Appraisal
There are different methods of Performance Appraisal used
by the HR department. They use Management by Objective
(MBO) method in certain departments like sales and marketing
and they also use methods like Grading and Paired Comparison
in certain departments.
Based on this they get incentives, increment in salary,
promotions, certification and soon. Salary to the employees of
SSRC is provided on monthly basis depending on their
attendance.

Marketing department

SSRC logistics is directly based on customer satisfaction and

cost reduction. Marketing focuses its actions on selling, directs
them toward customers but also generates actions so that those
customers who were initially captured are satisfied with the
service provided.

Segmentation, targeting, positioning in the Marketing strategy
of SSRC.

SSRC has got many branches all over India so different region
follows different strategies for marketing.
Marketing is the practice of understanding what customers
need and then communicating how the SSRC can achieve
those needs.
While advertising, social networking and product packaging
design are all part of marketing, so is the analysis of sales and
response data to figure out what customers like and want so
that the outgoing messages can be adjusted.
