With four series running from 2006-2011, Welsh screenwriter Russell T. Davies (Doctor Who, Queer as Folk) is the creator of this enjoyable Cardiff-set show. Winning multiple BAFTA Cymru Awards, the series features enchanting performances from Scottish-American actor John Barrowman, alongside Welsh actors Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd. Synopsis
Inside a branch of a covert agency called the Torchwood Institute, charming commander in chief Capt. Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) leads a team of experts known as the Torchwood Three, who investigate unexplained extraterrestrial incidents on Earth. Along with Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles), medical officer Dr. Owen Harper (Burn Gorman), computer specialist Toshiko Sato (Naoko Mori) and technician Ianto Jones (Gareth David-Lloyd), the Torchwood Three try to shield the planet from supernatural threats.
