Unstoppable Rosberg makes it two wins in a row

Nico Rosberg continued his winning form as he won the Bahrain Grand Prix, his second of the season. The German driver led from start to finish in the 57-lap-race to once again beat his Mercedes teammate and defending champion Lewis Hamilton who finished third.

Rosberg’s second win this season after making a winning start in Australia, enabled him to double his points tally this season to 50.

Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen finished second, taking advantage of Hamilton’s misfortune on the first lap. Pole-sitter Hamilton had a slow start and a collision with Valteri Bottas on Turn One which pushed him back to eighth place. However, he fought back to claim his second consecutive podium finish.

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel of Ferrari had a miserable outing as he didn’t feature in the race after his car's engine failed on the warm-up lap.

Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo finished fourth ahead of Frenchman Romain Grosjean who put up yet another sterling performance for the rookie team Haas F1. Grosjean had claimed a remarkable sixth in team’s maiden race in Melbourne last month.

On Sunday, Grosjean proved his performance in the first race was no fluke as he used an aggressive three-stop strategy to finish ahead of well-established teams.

Teenager Max Verstappen of Toro Rosso finished sixth ahead of Daniil Kvyat. The Williams duo of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas finished 8th and 9th respectively ahead of Belgian debutant Stoffel Vandoorne who scored a point in his first race with McLaren.

Marquez wins in Argentina

Double world champion Marc Marquez scored his first win of the 2016 MotoGP season after claiming the Grand Prix of Argentina.

Pole sitter Marquez finished ahead of nine times champion Valentino Rossi who was lucky to have been on podium after the Ducati pair of Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone, who were ahead of Rossi, touched and crashed out on the final bend of the final lap of the race.

Defending champion Jorge Lorenzo, who won the opening race in Qatar a fortnight ago crashed out on the fifth lap of the race.

Marquez leads the standings with 41 points, with Rossi on 33 and Dani Pedrosa on 27 points.
