Amya's PlayRoom/DIY Playhouse/Homeschool/Learning Corner

We found this discontinued playhouse on Craigslist for ($30), added three cheap metal curtain rods ($12) that extend up to 84" (attached with binder clips/pins), placed an unused girls twin flat sheet over the three extended rods, then decorated w/ leftover kitchen tiles on top of unused yoga mats (to protect hardwood floor), added our own thrift store mixture of extra add ons ($25) picked out by my trendy 3-year old, we were able to give her a playhouse that keeps her entertained for hours!

On the opposite side of Amya's playroom, she has a nice selection of age appropriate reading material, a vanity area, and Doc McStuffin's hospital area located on the bottom of her multipurpose bookcase, which is also shaped like a dollhouse for future Barbie use, when she gets to that age. Located on her picnic bench, her Minnie Mouse playhouse (fully equipped) is temporarily located until we can create a more convenient permanent location. This corner is also half Funtime and half learning!
T.V. Time is also convenient to display her three tier plastic drawer unit from our local thrift store, which holds all of Amya's doll's clothes, food for her kitchen, extra blankets, DVD's, and other time passing activity supplies which allow Amya to enjoy her individual playtime, while also teaching her the importance of toddler independence!
Tea time with her Minnie Mouse apron on, shows just one more example of the multitudes of activities offered by this playhouse!
All furniture; washing machine, sink, stove, oven and counter top were included with the playhouse. All other additions were creatively made to equip Amya's playhouse with multiple storage units, such as the white wall space unit (anchored through the playhouse into the wall) which displays her tea sets and dishes, as well as the straightened paper clips which conveniently hang from the curtain rods, provide space to hang her utensils, cookware, cleaning tools and trash can. #savingfloorspace
Her built in nursery on the reverse side of the "poster board" wall, allows Amya to learn to nurture and provide for her dolls, while learning to multitask with the conveniently located fully equipped kitchen right next to the crib area!
Amya modeling her homeschool area next to her playhouse, which is conveniently closed off for play during school hours by simply folding down the sheet and using binder clips to keep it tightly closed! No temptation, no time wasting!
