Do not react ... respond

When you feel like reacting, take a deep breath and pause. Focus on responding, instead of reacting? - What is causing me to feel this way? - What response would I like to see? Do not stuff your feelings down. Let them move through you and choose a less harmful way to get through it. Anger and stress are just emotions covering up our fears.
