This sweet and sassy sundress will welcome the warm weather in style The sundress is designed to be made either with or without a smocked insert in the front. A monogram or other embroidery could be used instead of the smocked insert. The hem with rick rack and bias band treatment are a wonderful designer element. Detailed instructions with pictures are included for all the steps to create this dress! The dress is made entirely on the machine - no buttonholes, zippers, etc. The shoulder ties and elastic back make it an easy fit dress! Contrast fabrics add a nice pop of color. The dress skirt is an excellent place to add machine embroidery, if desired. Two different smocking designs are included with the pattern - the sailboat and the love birds. No "how to" instructions for smocking are included. A prior knowledge of how to smock is required in order to make the smocked version of the dress. An ability to read a smocking graph is needed, so designed for a more experienced smocker. A pleater or pleating service is needed for the smocked insert. This pattern is suitable for the advanced beginner seamstress and beyond. Detailed instructions will provide the guidance needed to create this beautiful dress. This pattern is a layered pattern, so can be printed in the size that is to be made - no tracing required. Instructions on how to print a layered digital pattern are included.
