Blue Glow Echinops
SHARE this post with a gardener! This is a plant you NEED in your garden: Blue Glow Echinops. The color is so cool — a dusty blue-lavender. It pops against all of the greens and yellows of August. And the pollinators LOVE it! Those globular flowers are covered with bees and bugs from dawn to dusk. It’s a drought-tolerant plant, and it is sun-loving, too. Right now it is lighting up my very dry Wildlife Garden. I planted these last year, so this is their first bloom. I am looking forward to...
Sanguisorba officinalis
A star of the late-season garden, Sanguisorba officinalis produces airy constellations of wine-colored, bottlebrush flower heads that sway atop slender stems, adding movement, texture, and a rich tone to the summer and autumn border. Pair this Great Burnet with Ornamental grasses, Asters, Symphotrichums, Black-eyed Susans, and other fall garden favorites. For the balance of the season, this rhizomatous perennial produces a dense cushion of pinnate, serrated green foliage that provides texture,
How to grow erigeron
Erigerons, also known as fleabane, are low-growing, clump-forming plants grown for their pretty, daisy-like flowers. There are many varieties, but the most widely grown is Erigeron karvinskianus, or Mexican fleabane, which bears masses of small flowers over a very long period, often from May to the frosts in autumn. The flowers start out white, then turn pink as they age. It's native to Mexico and Central America but grows well in dry, sunny spots in UK gardens.

Red Perennials for Your Garden
Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’ and Ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius) are a wonderful combination in these hot days of summer. They look great together and have similar water needs, too. You can plant them together in fall or spring. Don’t plant Crocosmia as a plant, however. I have had much better success buying bulbs (which are a LOT cheaper) and planting them out in the spring!
