Hi everyone! I wanted to share today one of my favorite alternatives to plastic safety eyes when making amigurumi. And bonus, they are fast and easy! These came to be when I was searching for an 'eye' to have a crisp, delicate look. The Knotty Boss - Anna Leyzina on Instagram: "Welcome to another #JustATipTuesday - For those instances when safety eyes are not an option, or you just don’t have small enough size, embroider your eyes using the French Knot method. 

Although you can also use this technique for bigger amigurumi using thicker yarn, I prefer to use this with my smaller amis, when none of my pre-made eyes will work.
Let me know what your safety-eye-alternative method is, if you don’t already use this.

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Feed the thread to the front of the work, where you want your eye to be positioned
- Wrap the working thread around the needle 1-3 times (the more your wrap the bigger the knot) making sure to keep the coils tight around the needle.
