Village reference

What looks like an old and abandoned Japanese village is actually just a movie set. Many of the latest Japanese Samurai movies where filmed here. There are reconstructions of a farming village, a fishing village and a post town of the Edo period (1603–1867).

I have no idea where in France this picture was taken. It sure felt familiar, owing to the fact it reminded me so much of one of Rik Pierce's dollhouses. I sure would love to make it. Though not for my collection, it would be too small. I just think it would be a lot of fun. I even like the color of the green trim. Surely there can't be two doors side by side... Can there? This is an internal Mooncolony project of a stylised environment. Our aim for this environment illustration was to showcase an idyllic setting of a lively nordic village, situated high up in the mountains with a scenic view of the sea in the background. Inspired by one of my favorite games, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, I wanted to further my knowledge and practical skills with modular kits, foliage pipelines, and creating and lighting exterior environments. I used multiple UV channels for various assets to produce RGBMasks to give further control in Engine.
