During the viking age in Scandinavia, women often wore elaborate sets of oval brooches with strings of beads and associated jewelry pieces depended from them as a status symbol. This is my interpretation of one such set. Bronze, Antler and Glass.

Derived from images carved on the Gotland picture stones. The solar wheel represents the sacred circle of life, its basic four directions, and the elements as well as the wheels on the Sun's chariot. This image was sacred to the Norse, Balts and Slavs as the Solar Wheel representing the strength and protection of the Sun in the heavens driving out the cold and darkness.
