DJ Does Pottery on Instagram: "Making a flower shaped plate using mini terracotta pot molds 🌸 Terracotta is a great mold to use for pottery because it is porous—it absorbs water from the clay, allowing the clay to dry evenly and pop right off the mold. Arrange the terracotta mini plates into a flower shape, place them on a bat, and place the clay overtop of the terracotta flower. For flatter molds like this one, the bat can be lifted and then swiftly dropped. The pressure from the gravity imprints the mold right into the clay. And, dropping it with intention is quite satisfying. Then, cut around the the mold and smooth out any edges.
