A Confectionery Store With Linear Language And Striking Material | The Plot Studio - The Architects Diary

This week’s project is Sütizz Confectionery which was opened recently in the 11th district of Budapest. It was a pleasure to work for a confectionery, that became finally a sweet little oasis next to the block of flats.

Designing Cake Palace that is eclectic mélange of antiquity and modernity, 35 year-old bakery was our very first project in the F&B industry.

So when my lovely hairdresser Elly casually mentions a cake shop in nearby Randwick I'm opening up my calender on the phone as fast as I can. "Let's go um....next Tuesday?" I suggest and a date is made to go for morning tea. She brings along a friend of hers Amy who is also a sweet toothed cake lover. Between the three of us I figure that we can do quite a bit of damage to our waistlines (which would hopefully be offset by an early morning workout).

I can't remember how I first discovered California-based Sugarfina, but I've been obsessed with the luxury candy boutique for as long as I can remember. The couple behind the brand, Rosie O'Neill and Josh Resnick, started the company based on a gap they noticed in the market for a candy store that catered to adults, rather than kids. Together
