I LOVE landscaping and at one point in my life I remember looking into landscape architecture because it was so interesting to me. I get lots of questions about these, so I figured I’d share some tips and tricks. •It’s all about training if you want a tidy and beautiful trellis of any kind. These can look real messy if you don’t take the time to train them up the trellis. •Do I trim these vines? NEVER! I’m lazy and I just let them do their thing, then I check on them every couple weeks and re-wrap the vines up the trellis in the direction they are growing. •What zone am I and which way does my wall face? Hope it helps and happy gardening! 🪴 FYI - in this video it’s a bit tangled due to having to remove it for paint but within a few weeks, it looks much more lush and green 1) MEASURE: You’ll need to know how wide & tall your wall is. For reference, ours is 42’ wide and 6’ tall 2) EYE SCREWS: install eye screws at every bottom, top, and cross point of the diamond. Each bottom point of our diamonds are 3.5’ apart. We have 11 diamonds total. 3) VINE WIRE: get a sturdy vine wire and thread it through the eyescrews. We cut and used about 7.5 length pieces.
