Before the last three weeks of school, I spent almost an entire weekend in my classroom... with a plan. The plan was to be brave, be bold and try something different. The last two years, I really hadn't changed much in layout with my classroom because it was working well and in general, very smoothly. This year.. it wasn't bad, but with change comes sometimes the need to optimize. This design is an amazing layout for a flexible classroom. Students have multiple area of engagement and options for comfortability with the various seating options. I really like the circle and groupwork area centered towards the front of the classroom because I believe in cooperative learning where students are activiely participating in their learning experience. The veraility of the classroom allows desks, seats, or tables, to be moved with ease and at students discretion.
