A decade since the Qantas Airbus A380 took to the skies, the airline’s superjumbo fleet is getting a mid-life make-over.

As someone who is travel-obsessed — it’s part of my job as a freelance travel writer — I find myself flying a lot. Although my first activity of choice is to sleep (primarily because I don’t mind red-eye flights), getting some zzz’s isn’t always feasible. Qantas is currently upgrading a number of Boeing 717-200 aircraft belonging to its QantasLink regional arm with a new business class cabin and inflight service to match.
