Sharyn Kish on Instagram: "Here are a few ways to use those mini fly swatters… 1. Teacher (or family member) says a word. Students “swat” the beginning sound heard in the word dictated. (Great phoneme to grapheme practice) The first one to slap it gets to grab it from the table. Play until there are no more cards. 2. Play the same way but students listen for the middle vowel sound. **You can change up the game to listen for ending sounds in the words dictated. 3. Sound Circle. Lay out letter cards on the table (or use post-it notes). Students use a whisper phone and “fun” pointer to walk around the table and “whisper” read the letter and sound for each card. (A great way to informally assess and provide immediate feedback) #kinder #kindergarten #kindergartenactivities #firstgradetea Beginning Sound Games Kindergarten, Fun Letter Sound Activities, Letter Sound Practice Kindergarten, Practicing Letter Sounds, How To Teach Letter Recognition And Sounds, Ending Sound Activities For Kindergarten, Letter Recognition Activities For Kindergarten, Vowel Activity For Kindergarten, Vowel Letters Activities

CVC words are ideal for beginners because they have clear beginning, middle, and ending sounds, making them easy to segment and blend. They are among the first words preschoolers learn to read. 🔷 How to use the CVC Word Slider Board: 1. Use a dry erase marker to write the beginning and ending consonants on the slider board. 2. Move the slider board down to align with each vowel to form a CVC word. 3.
