My son's science project! I admit, each year after he picks a topic I try to get a lesson in there for parents or teachers, so I included 2 laminated sheets about bleach being toxic. RESULTS: tea tree oil cleaned just as well as bleach - both killed all bacteria in the petri dish (and yes he did a control). organic vinegar cleaned almost as well. The take away - you can use tea tree and/or vinegar to clean as effectively and more safely than bleach. Replace toxic for non-toxic. *Edited because s 5th Grade Science Projects, Elementary Science Fair Projects, Science Fair Board, Homeschooling Activities, Middle School Survival, Ag Teacher, Montessori Science, Steam Ideas, Science Week

This is a great way to link Science and Art! Get the children inspired by shapes and textures found in cells and bacteria growth by showing examples of petri dishes.
