Snip off any old flowers about 1 inch above the node—they’re draining your plant’s energy!  2. Remove all the soil from the roots and take out the support sticks.  3. Clean the roots thoroughly and trim off any mushy, smelly, or shriveled parts.  4. Wash the roots gently and transfer them to a vase or vessel with just enough water to cover 1 inch of the roots—don’t overfill!  5. Secure the plant with support sticks and add half a cap of hydrogen peroxide to the water to keep it fresh.
