This is a delicious mead made with foraged dandelion petals.

At Table. I sat with you at table. Among friends we broke bread and your hand reached for mine. Sup wine from my cup, steal sweets from my plate; All good things I have I offer to you, serve them up. Are your cheeks flushed? or is it candlelight and fireside - the heat of the hall? or is it my touch, cooler than air... I sit beside you at table. This is my household’s go-to fire cider recipe. Milder and sweeter than other fire cider recipes, hibiscus pomegranate fire cider makes a great gift for the herbally uninitiated. I promise, I won’t tell if your fire cider finds its way into the loving embrace of bubbles and gin. However, I most certainly wouldn’t condone, under any circumstances, the mixing of fire cider with tequila and pomegranate juice, served in a martini glass with a salted rim.

The ancient drink of mead is making a comeback. And one mead maker believes flavor is driving the charge.

This is a truly wonderful beverage - everything about it is cheering, from its pink hue to the strawberry aroma to the effects of the lemon balm on frazzled nerves. For best results, chop and freeze your strawberries in advance, then toss them in the wine bag and let them thaw in a bowl before you brew. The fruit releases more juice that way!
