Marie Thérèse ditte Coincoin, (1742-1816) was a free médecine, planter, and business woman in Natchitoches Parish. She was freed from slavery by her master Claude Thomas Pierre Métoyer, with whom she had ten children. Her descendants established a community along the Cane River. Look her up!
