Lincoln Tunnel, vehicular tunnel under the Hudson River, from Manhattan (39th Street), New York, to Weehawken, New Jersey. Designed by Ole Singstad, the tunnel was built by shield-and-compressed-air methods to hold back the outside water pressure.
