Unpacked from the gas kiln this morning, an old bowl, but one that’s now been salvaged. It was thrown and fired more than a year ago and since then it has lived gathering dust on the shelves in the studio. It’s slightly oval, which I don’t mind, but it makes selling it in my online shop more difficult, so for this last firing I coated it in black iron oxide, inside and out, and almost to the foot. In my mind, for all this time, I thought it would simply do the exact same thing yellow ochre...
