Michi ♡ on Instagram: "🎀Tips for nightly curly hair maintenance:

One of the factors which contribute to having a long lasting wash n go is how you maintain your curls before bed / while you sleep! Everyone’s routine is different but here’s mine:

🎀Wrapping your hair
- I use a satin bonnet regularly
- If I want more volume the next day, I wrap my hair in a silk scarf first then put the satin bonnet over it
- Wrapping your hair reduces friction while you toss and turn which will reduce frizz

🎀 Using satin pillow cases
- This reduces friction which reduces frizz, tangles and breakage in the event my bonnet comes off overnight
- Using a satin pillowcase has also been great for my skin :)

🎀 Manipulation
- As you see in the video, I always make sure I coat my hands with some oil before Curly Hair Maintenance, I Want More, Wash N Go, Satin Pillow, Satin Bonnet, Hair Bonnet, Satin Pillowcase, Hair Maintenance, My Skin

Nike Young on Instagram: "[SAVE + SHARE] How I maintain my wash n go really depends on how lazy I’m feeling the night before, and how much time I wanna spend the next day, teasing my hair…
.
Most days, I do the pineapple method, where I flip my hair over, tie a scarf(starting from the back) and put a bonnet on top
.
That method takes less than 30 seconds to do, but I end up with the back of my hair being flattened, and the front/middle having the most volume. Therefore, I have to tease it a lil more to get my desired results.
.
By sectioning my hair and stretching it with scrunchies, I preserve more of the form, which requires less manipulation the next day.
.
However, I incorporate all these steps for BOTH methods…it’s just the time it takes to achieve my desired look differs—
