I recently stayed in a lovely hotel room that had a great faux tray ceiling. It was very well done. By using a very large crown molding with the addition of trim on the ceiling you have the illusion of a tray ceiling.The walls were a buttery cream color, the ceiling was a creamy white, and the crown was also a buttery cream several shades darker than the walls.
