CROCODILE TEARS: Used in modern English to describe a display of superficial or false sorrow. The myth dates back to the 14th century from “The Travels of Sir John Mandeville" a popular book about a brave knight’s adventures during his travels through Asia. The book describes “These serpents that slay men, and eat them weeping." While factually inaccurate, this made its way into the works of Shakespeare and “crocodile tears” became an idiom as early as the 16th century. Study of some Crocodile scales done between projects, created in Substance Designer, rendered in ToolBag 3. Presentation and post done in Photoshop. Created the water for the crocodile body after being inspired by my good friend Dan Robson's Aquatic Plants (his super helpful breakdown as well full of great tips) and copious amounts of reference :) https://www.artstation.com/artwork/1vky2 Cheers!
