Science for Kids on Instagram: "See the magic of chemistry as crystals form on this strawberry! 🍓✨

Science Explanation: This experiment is done with super saturated solution of Sodium Acetate.

You can create supersaturated solution of sodium acetate by adding sodium acetate to hot water. The water can hold a lot of sodium acetate when it’s hot, way more than when it’s cold. But here’s the fun part: even when the water cools down, it still keeps all that extra sodium acetate, making it supersaturated!

Now, when we touch something to the liquid, like this strawberry, it triggers a chain reaction called nucleation. This is where the sodium acetate molecules start coming together, forming solid crystals. And as more and more molecules join in, these crystals grow larger, eventually becomi Chemistry Science Projects, Third Grade Science Experiments, Molecule Model, Chemistry Experiments For Kids, Third Grade Science, Chemistry Experiments, Chain Reaction, Stem Science, Water Can
