Painting ceramic mugs is a great way to customize them. Nothing dresses up a plain surface like a bit of paint. It's great way to take a tired old mug and make it look fresh and exciting - or make a beautifully unique gift. But after you paint your masterpiece, you have to make sure

Kelly Oester on Instagram: "🍒🩷Dollar Store Fingerprint Mugs🩷🍒 The perfect gift and/or keepsake🩷 1. Use "multi surface" acrylic paints and "oil-based" Sharpies (all found at @hobbylobby ). This is important! 2. The cheaper the mug the better (mine are from @dollartree) because there's less of a finish. 3. Let dry completely, then bake in the oven at 250 degrees F for 2 hours. Put them in the oven while the oven is heating up and reaching 250 degrees so it's not immediately too hot for them. Once baked, they are dishwasher safe! Although, they will hold up even better if hand washed.
