What are the Odds? Statistics Prof Photographs Rare Bird
August 2013- This is the rare cardinal photographed in Dr. Larry Ammann's back yard. It is a bilateral gynandromorph – which means it exhibits both male and female characteristics, split down the middle of its body.

White birch trees are everywhere in WI. They are so gorgeous ... I've added a few long branches to a large floor vase in the family room. During Christmas I wrapped tiny bright white lights around the branches. So beautiful that my husband asked that I leave them up year-round. Taking his advice!

Love to see cardinals in the winter! Bright pop of red against all the snow.
