Chelsea: Hello?
Narrator: If you aren’t engaging in some basic love geometry — love triangles, squares, your choice — are you really part of Love Is Blind?
Trevor: It’s like a love star.
Narrator: Take Chelsea and Jimmy, for example, who embark on one of the most dramatic journeys we’ve seen on the dating experiment so far.
Chelsea: I’m here for it. I’m so here for it.
Narrator: Welcome to “Relationship Rewind.” The pods. The North Carolina–based singles form a deep and immediate bond with one another from their very first date.
Jimmy: I want to explore. I’ve made it a goal of mine to travel. I work remote.
Chelsea: Well, I’m looking for someone who works remote so they can travel with me.
Narrator: But it turns out they have love to spare as Chelsea and Jimmy each fall hard for two other pod squad members — Trevor and Jessica, respectively. Chelsea is instantly attracted to Trevor without seeing his muscles or mullet.
Chelsea: I am a sucker for a mullet, and if you’re joking with me, I’m going to be pissed.
Trevor: Yeah, I have a mullet.
Chelsea: You’re such a liar.
Trevor: I swear to God.
Narrator: As the two build an easy rapport and share plenty of laughs…
Trevor: I can picture you behind there with a huge grin.
Narrator: But she can’t seem to keep Jimmy off the brain after the pair get busy planning a future full of international travel and movie nights at home.
Chelsea: I think that sounds like the most amazing life together. I couldn’t paint a better picture.
Narrator: And let’s just say Jimmy is even more intrigued by Chelsea after she tells him that her celebrity lookalike is — drum roll, please — Megan Fox.
Jimmy: You’re saying you look like Megan Fox.
Chelsea: I have light eyes and dark hair. That'’s the only reason. Listen —
Jimmy: Can we get married?
Chelsea: Listen, buddy —
Narrator: And while the two have a moment after Chelsea’s bumpy disclosure about her past divorce, the challenging conversation brings them even closer.
Jimmy: It’s not a deal-breaker to me. God, I think you’re great and I am really happy that you’re here.
Chelsea: Oh, man.
Narrator: Enter Jess, Jimmy’s other connection in the pods who shakes things up with her extremely direct form of communication and goofy personality.
Jimmy: What’s going on?
Jessica: My husband! Wait, oh my God. I just said that out loud.
Narrator: The pair also break down walls regarding their complicated family histories, deepening an already potent attraction. But when Jess shares that she has a 10-year-old daughter, Jimmy is thrown at first, questioning why she wasn't up-front about being a mother on their first date.
Jessica: I want people to get to know me as an individual first and establish a relationship with me.
Narrator: But after a short, cooldown period and some tough conversations, he ultimately decides that her past doesn’t faze him whatsoever, and the two continue to date.
Jimmy: I have feelings for you. It’s another piece of who you are.
Narrator: Jess, however, isn’t used to playing second fiddle, pushing Jimmy to make a decision between herself and Chelsea as other couples in the pods start to get engaged around them.
Jessica: You’re torn between me and somebody else. I don’t know what you’re doing. I don’t know what you’re feeling.
Narrator: Jess couldn’t be more certain that Jimmy is her person, letting him read a cherished letter she wrote to her future husband before entering the experiment.
Jimmy: I think about you often and wonder if you spend as much time as I do daydreaming about our future. I wonder if the road that led you to me was as long as the one that led me to you.
Narrator: While his feelings for Jess are real, Jimmy just can’t get there due to their clashing communication styles.
Jimmy: I came here to find my wife and future mother of my kids. You’re already an incredible mother.
Narrator: Breaking the news that she’ll be an incredible wife to someone else… A heartbroken Jess can’t believe she’s leaving the pods alone, but she manages to make a lasting impression on Jimmy (and all of us watching at home) with a devastating final goodbye.
Jessica: When you see and realize what you missed out on, you are going to choke. You are going to need your EpiPen to open up your airways.
Narrator: Things come to an end for the foursome when Trevor says those three big words to Chelsea.
Trevor: Because I love you.
Narrator: While she is over the moon about his feelings, Chelsea doesn’t say it back, overwhelmed by emotion and the potential of shattering his heart. Plus, she can’t believe that she’s found not one, but two guys in the experiment.
Trevor: I love you, Chelsea.
Narrator: “The Engagement.” Before Trevor gets the opportunity to propose, Chelsea has one last date with Jimmy, which changes just about everything.
Jimmy: I want to know if you’ll meet me at the altar in your white dress.
Chelsea: I will 1000% marry you.
Narrator: With Jess in the rearview, Jimmy has never been more clear about his feelings for the flight attendant, but Chelsea still has to break things off with Trevor for good as she heads back into the pods for what may be her most upsetting conversation yet. Trevor takes the breakup well, but can’t help but wonder what would’ve happened if he’d proposed to Chelsea first.
Trevor: Did you already say yes to him?
Chelsea: Yeah.
Trevor: If I went first, would you have said yes to me?
Narrator: But he’ll never know, as Chelsea leaves the pods and that relationship behind to start her new life with Jimmy. And then comes a big reveal when Chelsea and Jimmy power through their nerves and see each other for the very first time. And while Chelsea’s insecurities surface, the two maintain that they feel overwhelmed with love for one another.
Jimmy: I don’t care what you look like, I love you for who you are. I’m so freaking happy.
Narrator: “The Getaway.” Ready to start their future, Chelsea and Jimmy jet off to the Dominican Republic for vacation, where they'll see if their physical connection can match their emotional one. While on vacation, it's one step forward and about 100 steps back for the couple. During their first night together, Jimmy affirms his feelings for Chelsea despite her reservations.
Chelsea: Did you like me more in the pods than you do now?
Jimmy: No. I love you, and I love being with you.
Narrator: Chelsea says she’s beyond attracted to Jimmy and has absolutely zero complaints in the bedroom department.
Chelsea: Like this.
Brittany: Wowza.
Chelsea: The Lord blessed him.
AD: Girl, what?
Narrator: But the flight attendant has trouble believing Jimmy is a thousand percent sure he made the right decision, especially after the way he looks at AD.
Jimmy: That woman is absolutely stacked.
Narrator: The comment leaves Chelsea extremely unsettled, spilling over into an argument back in their hotel room.
Chelsea: You said hurtful comments. You made me feel uncomfy.
Narrator: But the ultimately brings the pair closer as they continue to push forward and experience relationship growing pains.
Jimmy: I love you with all my heart too.
Narrator: “Real Life.” Back in Charlotte, things start to get real for the couple. After answering some tough questions, Jimmy gains the approval of Chelsea’s besties, but the couple fumble later on after Chelsea feels ignored during Jimmy’s first day back at work.
Chelsea: Today and yesterday, I didn’t really feel any love from you.
Narrator: Plus, she’s extremely on edge, after Jimmy reveals he scoped out Jess on Instagram. Things only get more heated when Jimmy says the one thing absolutely nobody in a relationship wants to hear.
Jimmy: Truthfully, you've been a little clingy.
Narrator: And with that, their argument spirals way out of control. Needing space, Jimmy leaves Chelsea alone and heads back to his own apartment. The next morning, the two manage to make peace, agreeing that they have work to do when it comes to expressing their emotions. The couple patch things up just in time for Chelsea to meet Jimmy’s nearest and dearest, a group of his all-women friends.
Chelsea: I’ve dated people who have really good girlfriends and they’ve all cheated on me with the good girlfriends.
Narrator: Next up is Jimmy’s family. The pressure is on, because their impression of Chelsea means the world to Jimmy who doesn't introduce girlfriends to them often. Luckily, Chelsea gets glowing remarks from Jimmy’s mom, marking a major milestone for the couple. But their peace is short-lived once Chelsea lashes out at Jimmy for grabbing a drink with friends without her.
Chelsea: I don’t want to be with someone who wants to go out and party.
Narrator: What starts out as a normal conversation about prioritizing time together escalates to an explosive fight about Jimmy having women friends. Feeling disrespected and perhaps just a little wine-drunk, Chelsea reveals a secret in the heat of the argument.
Jimmy: I don’t have a physical relationship with them. I want you to trust me.
Chelsea: You do, though. I know you [bleep] her and you told me that.
Jimmy: I told you off-camera that —
Chelsea: I know, but then —
Jimmy: I don’t want to talk about that.
Narrator: The indiscretion crosses a major line for Jimmy who says he’s now questioning his feelings, just two weeks away from their wedding day. With a clear head the next day, Chelsea apologizes for her poor delivery and tries to convince Jimmy not to throw in the towel. He tepidly forgives Chelsea and pledges to keep trying.
Jimmy: She’s so damn hard not to forgive.
Narrator: Surprisingly, Jimmy reuniting with Jess at the pod squad barbecue doesn’t prove to be catastrophic for the couple. And after all the drama, Jimmy and Jess are finally able to meet and move on for good. Meanwhile, Chelsea has her hands full with her ex Trevor who asks the one question we’ve all been wondering about.
Trevor: If orders were switched and I went first, would there be a different outcome?
Chelsea: There wouldn’t have been just because Jimmy and I had a conversation.
Trevor: Because you have to say that to be a good person?
Narrator: But the extremely awkward barbecie extravaganza somehow manages to bring the couple even closer. And with Jess and Trevor behind them, the two start to finalize wedding details and choose their outfits for the big day.
Narrator: “The Breakup” Or at least, so they thought. Despite putting his best foot forward, Jimmy shares that he still hasn’t made up his mind about their I do’s mere days before the wedding. While Chelsea still has hope, Jimmy stuns her with a last-minute confession.
Jimmy: I don’t want to go to the altar. I can’t.
Narrator: A shocked Chelsea is left reeling as Jimmy explains why he can’t move forward and has to end their engagement.
