Inspiring conversation today about servant leadership with Howard Behar of #starbucks legend. For me, the entire conversation was affirming that the work I do with leaders is aligned with my values and the values of my clients. 🚶♂️ What’s the Best Pair of Shoes You’ve Ever Owned?  We all have that standout pair of shoes. 1️⃣ The Most Loyal Favorite: The pair that’s been with you through life’s biggest moments, never letting you down. For me, that’s my Blundstones. If I had to pick one pair to wear for anything and everything, it would be those! Reliable, durable, and always ready for the journey. 2️⃣ The Coolest: Remember the Reebok Pumps from the 90s? How cool were those! What about you? What do shoes have to do with leadership? Not much, I guess, but they do offer a powerful metaphor. Think about the coolest leaders, teams, or companies you’ve worked with—those that left a mark on you, regardless of outcomes. Now, consider who’s been the most loyal team, leader, or company and ask yourself, why? I was leaving Costco the other day when the guy checking my receipt proudly displayed a badge highlighting 25 years at the company. Dang! His face, smile, and commitment to the job were loud and clear. The loyalty from both him and the company left me wondering: What are the ingredients of a company where employees feel this kind of pride and connection? #culture #connection #transformationalleadership

When you manage a team, regular recognition of great work is important. But it can be too easy to forget to celebrate wins as the days become more and more hectic. There are some small but impactful ways to recognize your team on a regular basis, such as shout-outs on social media, personalized gifts, increased benefits or team outings/activities.
