As described in the Advertising section 2.4 of our Privacy Policy, we target ads to members, visitors, and others both on and off our services.

Below are details about how you can manage your LinkedIn advertising preferences.
From your LinkedIn Ads settings, you can manage your ad preferences and control data collected about you.

Note: Your changes to LinkedIn's own opt-out setting may take 24 hours to become effective. Even after your opt-out is effective, you may continue to see ads that feature an option to manage your advertising preferences, including to opt out of interest-based advertising
We’re members of the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) and adhere to the DAA and DAA Canada (DAAC) self-regulatory principles for online behavioral advertising (OBA). Our ad services do not engage in “the collection of data online from a particular computer or device regarding Web viewing behaviors over time and across non-affiliate Web sites for the purpose of using such data to predict user preferences or interests to deliver advertising to that computer or device based on the preferences or interests inferred from such Web viewing behaviors.” (OBA, as defined by the DAA Principles)
Non-members can opt out of LinkedIn's and its service providers' tracking of visits to LinkedIn for targeted advertising purposes on this DAA page: aboutads.info/choices. This is a cookie-based opt-out, so it is browser specific and it is rendered ineffective by clearing or blocking cookies.
Members can use the extensive and granular LinkedIn ad settings described in the section above.
LinkedIn participates in the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework and complies with its Specifications and Policies when processing requests to serve ads off-LinkedIn, on the LinkedIn Audience Network. LinkedIn’s identification number within the framework is 804.
If you’re seeing ads served by LinkedIn for third parties on a non-LinkedIn mobile application, you may use your mobile device settings to opt out of certain types of advertising that use your mobile ad identifier. Each mobile device setting will describe the scope of its opt-out. This opt-out won’t apply to LinkedIn mobile applications since we don’t use mobile ad identifiers to serve ads in our own applications.
If you are not a LinkedIn member, you can opt-out of LinkedIn's and its service providers' tracking of visits to LinkedIn for targeted advertising purposes by clicking on this link. This is a cookie-based opt-out, so it is browser specific and it is rendered ineffective by clearing or blocking cookies.
Please note that the non-member setting is not intended for use by members and will only apply on www.linkedin.com and only if you are logged out of LinkedIn.
If you are accessing LinkedIn from one of the Designated Countries, you can instead choose to activate or deactivate the cookies that are used to deliver ads.

You can opt out of receiving interest-based advertising from Microsoft on LinkedIn. Microsoft’s privacy dashboard allows you to choose whether you want to see interest-based ads from Microsoft, including whenever you’re signed in with your Microsoft account. If you opt out, that choice will apply across your Windows devices when you’re signed in with your Microsoft account.
Please note that none of these tools opts you out of seeing advertising. Keep in mind that even though LinkedIn doesn’t share your personal data (other than hashed or device identifiers, to the extent they are personal data in some countries) with any advertiser without your permission:
-
When you view or interact with an ad, an advertiser or ad-serving company can infer that you fall in their target audience. For example, they can infer that you belong to the segment of LinkedIn members who are based in Ohio and work in the legal job sector because their ads were set up to show to this target audience.
-
If you click on an ad, the ad poster will know you visited the page that you clicked on.
-
Advertising partners can associate personal data collected by the advertiser directly from you with cookies and similar technologies. In such instances, we seek to contractually require such advertisers to obtain your explicit opt-in consent before doing so.
Note: If an ad features your LinkedIn profile picture or name in one of our Dynamic Ads formats, only you will see your name and profile picture in the ad. Other members who receive this ad will see their own information. Please note that without your separate permission, the advertiser doesn’t see or receive your name or profile picture from these ads or campaigns.
