On this Veterans Day, I wanted to share some reflections: The military teaches you selfless service and dedication to protecting others. Most people see obvious applications in fighting enemies overseas, but don't realize the military mindset and core values of veterans don't end with their service. Take me for example. When I got out of the military in 2008, so many incredible companies were trying to do good things for members of the military and veteran community - whether it was discounts, or employment opportunities, or special benefits offered exclusively to people who served. But back then, there really wasn't any way to prove you had served if you weren't in for a full 20 year career. There wasn't an emblem added to your drivers license like we have today in most states. And I was shocked to learn there was a real issue with "Stolen Valor" - people pretending to have served in the military to take advantage of the goodwill. I know, right? My first use case in co-founding ID.me was tackling the issue of stolen valor and making it easier for people who legitimately served to access benefits and services. I share that story to demonstrate that the military continues to influence what I'm doing as a civilian to this day. And I know a lot of other veterans out there are doing the same. Protecting and serving in whatever civilian job they are working, continuing to bring all the things they learned in the military to make America the amazing country that it is. So first, I want to say thank you to all the veterans out there. Not only for your service while you in the military, but for continuing to bring your A-game every day in civilian life. And second, to all of you with veterans as family, friends, and colleagues, this is the day to reach out and tell them you see them, you appreciate them, and you love them. Happy Veterans Day!

Our three-day offsite in October was an incredible journey of teamwork, resilience, and celebration — even with unpredictable weather trying to get in the way! 🌧️🌈 Despite heavy rains, we managed to create a memorable experience that brought our teams even closer together.
