NEC Corporation has received an order to build a communications system and a Facility Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition System (Facility SCADA System) for the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) North-South Line Extension Project Phase 2 from Larsen & Toubro Limited, a major India-based construction company and a specialized subcontractor of the main contractor Sojitz Corporation, a leading Japan-based trading company. This project is being supported by the Japanese government through a development assistance loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). By utilizing advanced digital technologies and actively working to develop transportation infrastructure, NEC will continue contributing to new developments in Indonesia and enhancing conveniences for passengers as we remain committed to providing safe, secure, and efficient transportation infrastructure to communities around the world. NEC has announced consolidated financial results for the three-month period ended June 30, 2024.   Year on year, revenue and adjusted operating profit increased in both IT Services and Social Infrastructure. In domestic IT Services, order booking increased significantly due to robust demand. NEC President & CEO Takayuki Morita took to the stage as one of the speakers at the 29th International Conference for Women in Business, one of the largest diversity conferences in Japan, held on Sunday, July 28. 🎤 He was joined by Kaori Sasaki, Founder & CEO of ewoman and Executive Producer of the conference. He also spoke with Meyumi Yamada, co-founder of istyle Inc., which is well known for managing Japan's largest cosmetics review and ranking service "@cosme". They discussed the theme of corporate growth brought about by diversity, where Morita emphasized that in order for us to effectively capitalize on diversity, mutual trust and a shared purpose are important. 🤝 Additional speakers from NEC included Corporate Senior Vice President Asako Aoyama, and Corporate Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Yuka Shigesawa. The NEC Group celebrated its 125th anniversary on July 17. To commemorate this, we would like to reflect on NEC's history and look back on the technologies and milestones that connect us to the future. ✏️ NEC was established on July 17, 1899, the very same day that revised treaties between Japan and other countries went into effect. It was founded by Kunihiko Iwadare, who once worked with Thomas Edison.
