La collana Biblioteca di «Mediterraneo Antico» nasce come approfondimento dei temi trattati nella rivista Mediterraneo Antico. Economie Società Culture e sotto la stessa direzione, accogliendo anche i lavori troppo ampi per essere accolti dal limitato spazio di una rivista.
La collana è un luogo e uno strumento di riflessione critica su la società e la cultura del bacino mediterraneo che visse la propria unità sotto l'influsso della koinè greca ed ellenistico-romana. Si tratta di tutti gli elementi che influirono in questa fetta di mondo: l'unificazione di spazi società e culture diverse; i processi di integrazione o marginalizzazione; il riproporsi delle spinte centrifughe in epoca tardoantica; la nascita e lo sviluppo dei grandi movimenti religiosi etc.
La collana si propone, dunque, di analizzare i maggiori temi d'attualità della ricerca scientifica sul mondo antico ed essere quindi veicolo delle novità emergenti nel panorama antichistico internazionale.
L'ampiezza e la varietà dei relatori è garanzia di interdisciplinarità e di confronto tra i diversi orientamenti storiografici. * The collection Biblioteca di «Mediterraneo Antico» was created to host in-depth studies on the themes addressed in the journal Mediterraneo Antico. Economie Società Culture, with the same director and editorial board, also publishing works which for reasons of length could not appear within the limited space of a journal.
This series is a forum and a tool for critical reflection on the society and culture of the Mediterranean basin which achieved its unity under the influence of the Greek and Hellenistic-Roman koinè. The series aims to focus on all the elements that shaped this portion of the world: the unification of different spaces, societies and cultures, the integration or marginalization processes, the resurgence of centrifugal forces in late antiquity, the rise and development of the great religious movements, etc.
The collection will thus seek to analyze the major themes that form the current focus of attention in scientific research on the ancient world, and will act as a vehicle to convey new findings and proposals springing from international scholarship in the field of antiquities.
The breadth of vision and and the great variety of contributors will be a guarantee of an interdisplinary approach and exchange of views among the different historiographic schools of thought. * Elenco libri / Book List
