River Cottage Veg: Finale (2011)
Terrible
Bring It On! (2011) was below ok, Grow Your Own (2011) was terrible, Feast (2011), Summer Pleasures (2011) and Power (2011) were below average. Cost (2011) was near average. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall starts inviting primary school children to his HQ and feeds them European vegetarian dishes. They dislike some veg, so typical of only some children. Next, he goes to the extreme, finding vegans who do not cook vegetables. This sounds like he wants people to go back to the before the caveman days.
Meat lover James is forced to make a meat-free dish, which has blue cheese, not caring for those who hate it or can't eat it. Hugh can't make up his mind, ends his veg time fishing. Finally, he throws a party for all the vegetarians who taught him but again his dishes are only European.
River Cottage Veg: Cost (2011)
Just
Bring It On! (2011) was below ok, Grow Your Own (2011) was terrible, Feast (2011), Summer Pleasures (2011) and Power (2011) were below average. This one creeps just as average. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall first starts of taking.one of his lambs to slaughter and he touches the raw meat. Even as a temporary vegetarian, he should no touch non-vegetarian items. He continues to commit this act, cooking a fake North African dish for Tim and James. So, the start gives viewers an incorrect idea how to be a vegetarian. Then he meets pubs owners and promises to make a veg-only dinner. Before this, he makes veg Cornish pasties. The dinner looks only ok, but once again, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is stuck in old-fashion cooking.
River Cottage Veg: Power (2011)
Still not even good
If Feast (2011) and Summer Pleasures (2011) were below average, Grow Your Own (2011) was terrible and Bring It On! (2011) was below average, this one is still not good. He makes some fake North Africa dish for his gardeners who give praise just for the camera. After not completing a swim, Hugh can't cook a proper dish for athletes. Again, he shows people what they know how to cook - baked potatoes. This is after poor display of pulling logs.
Tim again shows of he's stuck in old fashion cooking and forces James in a competition. James' spelt dish won't fill anyone's stomach. Neither would Tim's.
Hugh ends chickening out a swim but cooks a weird stew.
River Cottage Veg: Summer Pleasures (2011)
Marginally good
This fourth episode is. Slightly better than Grow Your Own (2011) and just like the first a third episode. It opens with. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall making another English-type of vegetarian dish. Once again, it shows he's stuck in one cuisine and trapped in the past. Next, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and other River Cottage staff go fishing then they make fake sushi rolls. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall in pparticular adds avocado which is only added in America. Again, he and his cook fail to cook properly. The worst part is when he visits a Japanese Buddhist lady and is frightened of tofu. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall as an Oxford graduate really doesn't know the vales of tofu? Furthermore, he has to ask what Miso paste is. Then, Tim also shows he is a stick-in-the-mud cooking stuffed peppers, a 1970s dish.
River Cottage Veg: Feast (2011)
Again it shows a sharp contrast in cooking
This episode shows Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is stuck with English or pseudo-European cooking and growing. The Indian chef Jagdesh and is catering team make quite authentic Indian dishes while Oxford-educated Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall failed to make a proper dossal. Later, he created fake curry, mainly English-type. Then, John made wine that would cause diabetes.
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's feast for the wedding was so European and failed to cover any proper international vegetarian dishes. There was not a Middle Eastern, East Asian, Chinese, Japanese or Korean dish. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall just is stuck in old cooking.
JAG: To Russia with Love (1998)
Really enjoyable episode
Much more and X-file as Harm along with bratty Mac head to Russia well Moscow first to find his father against the wishes of the Admiral. Love taxi driver cum triple agent Alexei who works for the higher bidder. Quite obvious Sokol would reappear and him and. Parlovsky both FSB. Definitely better if Meg or Skates appears, Mac is so anti-Harm, She should have been injured in the ejection - not trained pilot.
Sokol sounds like someone from the TV series the Americans. And in typical DPB fashion, he was the sub-driver in the third episode of the first season.
Later if poor creativity, Harm get a half brother.
River Cottage Reunited: Episode #1.3 (2022)
Was it all in the name of sustainability?
First High drives a petrol/gas-jeep all the way to the river instead of walking. Second are the male and female swimsuits and clothes environmentally friendly? Third, is River Cottage HQ made of carbon-free materials? Fourth, while you want to protect the environment, why fish? Nice scenery very hypocritical.
Jurassic Park (1993)
Poor inaccurate facts
And terrible twisting of Michael Crichton's book. Shame on Spielberg!
The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
Horrible movie
Much prefer Michael Crichton's book with two tweens rather than one black girl with terrible stunts.
Flashpoint: The Fortress (2009)
One of the best
Episodes from Season 2. All actors did a wonderful job! The actress playing Irina deserved her Gemini award!
Far Eastern Odyssey: Malaysia 2 & Sri Lanka (2009)
He failed to show
Enough of Penang. No Laksa? No Wonton Mee? No proper sweet Chee Cheong Fun? No Loh Bak? Penang is not known just for Fish Head Curry!
Rick Stein's Taste of Shanghai (2016)
Excellent
Single-shot documentary. No swearing all displaying of Shanghainese food and no criticising of it. 10/10 Rick! Oh it's Asia-Pacific not Far East.
River Cottage Autumn (2008)
Overall
Much way better than River Cottage Spring. Clare or Claire was a better apprentice. The landshare was way better as were the food and dishes. John Wright rocks!
River Cottage Autumn: Wild Food Feast (2008)
Yes
Never go mushroomin-ing with Hugh and Gill. Never stay on the side of the road. John and Steve were much better. Love the squirrel not the ragu.
River Cottage Autumn: Spelt and Cauliflower (2008)
I would
Hate cauliflower cheese as well. Tim's pakora was much.better. The spelt bread was nice.
River Cottage Veg: Bring It On! (2011)
Not too bad
I hate Hugh's idea of eating just vegetables; it destroys the ecosystem. The David Bailey recipes were great not his philosophy. Tim's polenta dish is not filling for anyone's stomach compared to James' lamb saddle. It clearly shows how insular the River Cottage team is in cooking.
River Cottage Veg: River Cottage Christmas (2011)
Love the chestnut and wild boar
Love the chestnut and wild boar. Other dishes were just right.
River Cottage: Gone Fishing!: Episode #1.3 (2007)
Fairly ok
More about sustainability than cooking. Gill's dish was far better.
River Cottage: Gone Fishing!: Episode #1.2 (2007)
Terrible
Who does know how to eat salmon? Wrong way of eating crab. Hugh's new Fish and Chips was nothing new. The razor clams were not cooked they correct way. Lousy!
River Cottage: Gone Fishing!: Episode #1.1 (2007)
Excellent
Set of new fishes no British citizen would usually eat. Great loads of shellfish introduced as well.
River Cottage Spring (2008)
Episode 1 was crap
I'm not a fan of his free-range stuff or his grow your own food family farm. The dishes were ok. The asparagus and wet garlic dishes were the best. Silly vegetarian.
River Cottage Every Day (2010)
The fruit, breakfast and bread epsiodes
Weren't that great. The others were rather good though most dishes were centred for the British palate.
River Cottage Every Day: Lunch (2010)
Most dishes were great
Except for the cheese sandwich make over. The family meal was lovely as was the UK-style pot noodle make over.
River Cottage Every Day: Breakfast (2010)
Another lousy episode
The 'Brinner' stuff was unique however pancakes and drop scones and flapjacks-look-alike were npt.
River Cottage Every Day: Fruit (2010)
Worst episode
Who does not know how to make Eton Mess or lollies? What is so special about the fruit shown?
