As If It's True (2023)
Bad acting by woman protagonist
Story and plot was good, but very basic and nothing special. Nothing to get hooked onto. It's pretty relevant to what is happening with some influencers around the world, especially Philippines. The pressure and stress and how to come back from being "Laos". But the bad acting made the movie even worse. "Gemma" has a provoking way of letting words out of her mouth and expression is always the same with the eye brow lift and smirk. Always trying to act provocative however trying to be cute at the same time? It does not blend in with the age of 27. Very Slow burn film. Watch if you have time to waste. But Gemma needs to learn how to act more complex and adaptable to the situation or she just gets annoying as a character. No hate but only
Constructive criticism, as it is on Netflix it should be good. A Filipino film on Netflix must be proud worthy.
The In Between (2022)
It can be life changing if you let it
It is pretty mainstream if you don't read beyond the lines, but this film is one of the best films that explains to all viewers that in reality, life is short, and we get so caught up in the little problems, complaining about petty things, arguing about something you can easily solve, rather than just accepting love and letting go. Before it's too late. Time is fast, weeks, months, years come by. You may think that nothing has changed, but if you look back, 5 years from now. Everything has changed. Don't waste your time. Don't wait for until "it's too late".. to do the things you love and be with the ones you love. That is what this movie is about. And maybe they made it as simple as this, for the whole world to try and understand. Yes it's corny and just so fiction, but what's great about it, is the lesson. Call me cheesy but a life with less complaints and more happiness is priceless. And that is the message.
