The Outlaws (2021)
Maybe
The timings for some of the jokes are not quite right which takes away the
humour but there us enough in it to want to watch some more. Good mix of characters. Stephen Merchant and. Darren Boyd were spot on . The two leads were a bit cheesy and too obvious a 'pair' but the intro of. Chris Walken was funny. His grandkids have no illusions about their Grandad.
Will watch some more.
Blitz (2011)
What a cast!!!
This is the kind of movie that yoi could make in a week.
None of the characters has a history that is investigated in any depth. It's Jason Statham doing his thing and Aiden Gillan showing off to great effect.
When you look at the cast list you might very well gasp in disblief. Paddy Considine, Aiden Gillan, Mark Rylance, David Morrissey, Luke Evans et al.
Yakuza to kazoku: The Family (2020)
Almost a classic
This could have been/should have been a great movie. That it isn't is down to the total lack of charisma shown by the lead actor. This was one of the most appalling performances that I've ever seen. Totally unable to communicate with other good actors in the story or generate any warmth or sympathy for his character. Remake this with somebody half decent as the lead, plz.

One thing missing
All the plaudits given to this series are well deserved. The two stars whose romance takes its own funny time to get going are faultless and well-matched. But what makes this epic so memorable is the supporting cast. The ensemble. It's fair to say that this would have been a great show even without 'The Great Love Story'. I was especially impressed by the owner of the Glory Hotel. Kudo Hina and her traitorous father. Lee Wan Ik, one of the best villains that I.ve ever seen. But they are just two of a wonderful array of characters. Some baddies, some goodies and some funny and human. All of them attractive, especially the women and yet something unbelievable happens...................... The Great Love story is told without a single kiss.

Product placements 'R us
This show is a marketing man's dream. The cast change clothes for every episode and in some cases, for every scene. Jewelry, is heavily featured with the ladies modelling an amazing variety of earrings.. In one scene the camera suddenly switches from the faces of two protagonists, to someone's hand for a few seconds just to show a nice flashy watch.
The main character is a bit of a moron, mostly seen staring into space, with dialogue that includes many many uses of the morons' mantra "What?"
Kim Da Mi steals the show with a charismatic performance, in spite of some of the more ridiculous outfits she has to wear.
Pustina (2016)
Compelling series.
Set in an ugly small town in Czech, near the Polish border, a local girl goes missing. The subsequent mystery of her whereabouts/fate introduce us to an array of locals who are being bought out by a mining company. There is some resistance to this but their quality of life is so dire that you can't really sympathize with those who are unwilling to let go of their roots. The authenticity of the cast and their habitat is such that I was almost convinced that this was a documentary. Everyone has a story. There are no cardboard cutouts here and as we discover, and they are all suspects. The paucity of their standard of living is a shock but this is not a depressing show. Compared elsewhere to The Missing and The Killing, it is compulsive viewing and the actor who plays the missing girl's father turns in a tour de force performance.
Don't miss this!

If you enjoyed S01, don't miss S02
As Monty Python once said ...AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.
The same cast is there with some interesting additions but the focus has to some extent, switched to the Nazi "treasure" that may or may not be in the vicinity. There are flashbacks that explain the presence of the newcomers but it is not always clear which time zone we are in and the editing is so bizarre that occasionally the storyline becomes incomprehensible. Having thought about it for a few days, I have to rewatch it since I feel I may have missed something..In fact, I enjoyed it so much I will go all the way back to S01
