I found this and had to watch for nostalgia reasons. I've just finished watching the movie, and have to admit I forgot how good it was, now i'm really in the mood to watch the series again, shame it doesn't seem to be showing anywhere.
With the possible resurrection of He-man, someone needs to bring this back. No idea why it bombed in America, in my opinion its just as good as He-man, if not slightly better. I forgot how close both heroes looked, they could be long lost twin brothers. However I think one of the biggest differences is that unlike He-man, Bravestarr got the girl lol.
Whilst some people have commented on the animation, its better than some of todays cartoons (power puff girls, Samurai Jack, Dexter's lab etc) which whilst I don't really watch them , when I've caught them are in my opinion worse animation, and a lot less detailed, and the storyline is just as good today as it was back then, though it had some really bad character names just like He-man, I mean Cactus head?? what an awful name.
Definitely worth watching though, even if you did not watch it growing up.

First of all I will point out that I have not read the book.
From a non reader of the book point of view, all these deleted scenes and story lines that have been cut out/left out of the film, made no difference to me. I also urge those of you who have not read the book, to disregard those whose comments put the film down, due to it not being quite like the book.
This is simply a Good fantasy movie, the acting was above average, although I do agree Edward Speleers seemed a little out of place throughout, the rest of the acting I thought was very good, and Rachel Weisz voicing the dragon was a great choice, and i actually liked what was left with the storyline, it may not have been as good as the book, biut I enjoyed it all the same.
Now i am not saying those who have read the book are wrong, but just pointing out that if you have not read the book, then some of their put downs are meaningless, and if you like fantasy films, then you will like this. Who knows, now Im going to read the book, I will probably agree with their comments, but still compared to some fantasy movies this is still one of the better ones, and I am hoping they will make a sequel. (It better have Rachel voicing again!)
