The Empty Man (2020)
Great Story with Less Inflection in Acting
The story is very cool. Visually it's professional. And James Badge Dale is very good looking, very hot. But the overall acting of all actors is one notch away to making this movie memorable.
Imawa no Kuni no Arisu (2020)
Wow!!!!!
I am amazed by the series. The story is deep and contemporary at the same time.
Ke zai ni xin di de ming zi (2020)
Eternal Story
I love the movie for its story. How the journey of Jia Han and Birdy's relationship has been engraved in my memory. It's very strong, supported by great acting from both the main characters, plus the character of old Jia Han. But not really from the old Birdy; maybe it's what makes me not really satisfied with the ending.
Seungriho (2021)
Oh, Song Joong Ki
The setting is good, the story is ok, the cast is cool. How they communicate in multi-languages really captures me. But above all, the acting of Song Joong Ki is what kept me watching until finish.
On the Rocks (2020)
Ambience Magic
I don't know how, but the movie maker succeeded to create a very engaging story. I guess it's through the art of dialogue mixed with superb characterization and utmost setting management. Or maybe i can so relate to the main character, i cried at the almost-end part of it.
Pretty Little Liars (2019)
Plot Twist Yang Gak Penting
Beoning (2018)
I don't understand
I love Ah-in Yoo, that's why I watched this movie. The acting, the plot, and all cinematography, they could hold me until the end. That means there is something good about this movie for me. But I don't know what it is. I guess I'm too plain in thinking about movies. I sense some class issues, gender, sexuality. But, honestly, I am in the dark.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Visually Poetic
Wow! Every scene in this movie is great, like a dream interpreted in reality.
Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999)
The Best Jobs Movie
I think this is the best movie about Steve Jobs. I love how Noah Wyle and Anthony Michael Hall captured the characters through their voices. Great!
Tell Me Who I Am (2019)
Clever Presentation
I like how the movie is presented: two simple monologues combined with supporting illustration of dark moments. But one things is missing: what happened right before Alex got accident? Where and why he was going on the ride?
The Great Hack (2019)
I am hacked!
This documentary opens my eyes that we are prone to being hackable human beings.
Midsommar (2019)
It's too much for me
The graphic violence is too much for me. But the movie is smart enough to tone it down through fleeting chemistry among the characters. My heart is still beating fast.
The Silence (2019)
Good story, but ...
I like the little story of the struggle of the family. But many scenes are too pretensious in regards of main characters' safety. The sudden appearance of silent church group is also rather baseless. But overall, it's enjoyable.
Carriers (2009)
Pucci is Natural
I like how Pucci's character develops naturally in this movie. And that is probably the only strong point based on my opinion. The other aspects are so so. Story is ok. The virus background is not very strong, especially that its visualization of blood and rashes is not convincing enough. But overall, I could still finish the movie, meaning it is enjoyable enough.
Snowden (2016)
Great Acting
The story is ok, but the acting is great! All casts are top notch!
Ikut Aku ke Neraka (2019)
Mature Pacing
I like the movie because the plot feels mature in term of pace. It's not fast and not slow, adequate through and through. Elements of horror are also sufficient. Some setbacks starts to appear in the second half of the movie, regarding how the couple find out the mystery quite so easily, and then about the action scenes towards the ending that feel missing a precision touch, and the ending itself, for me, is not very impressive. All in all, I still love the movie, I can feel the good work ethic behind it.
Oldeuboi (2003)
Wrongly Strongly Poetic
This movie is very strong and well-acted I can say that the scenes are poetic through and through when I actually is disturbed by the story with its twist that freaks everybody out. Magic.
Oldboy (2013)
Wow!
I hadn't watched the original when I watched the remake. And it captured my attention from beginning to the end. Josh Brolin was very good especially in the first half of the movie. He could make me hate him, but the problem is I never really liked the character at the second half, which was supposed to happen based on the story. And the best part of the movie, for me, is the twist, so shocking. So, it was satisfying for me. And after this I will try watching the original.
Supernova: The Knight, the Princess & Shooting Star (2014)
Appreciation for the filmmaker
I know it's not easy to adapt a movie from one of the greatest books in Indonesia. I did not expect too much, especially in term of writing, how it is a task of magnitude scale to write a well-written book into a movie. You'd be trapped in the beauty of the book, and the movie dialogues would feel unnatural. That's what happens to Supernova the movie. I wish the script writer were free as a bird when writing it. Other than that, everything is ok. Diva is well acted for a new actress standard. And the best acting moment in this movie is between Fedi Nuril and Raline Shah, when Arwin is holding Rana from behind as he is letting her go. Love it.
The Way Back (2020)
Great Acting!
An ordinary story about a coach with personal issue trying to find a way into his own heart. But the acting os extraordinary, the directing is top notch, the cinematography is profound, those make the movie emotionally charged. Great job!
Ya-gan-bi-haeng (2014)
Quite Heavy
Story is heavy for me, meaning a little depressing. But it's a very good movie. I like how it pictures bullying so intensely, it becomes a warning for all of us. A good commentary on how school often loses eyes in avoiding it. And acting wise, jae-joon lee was in control the whole time, coupled with great interpretation of yong-ju's character, it's such a piece to appreciate highly.
Huhwihaji anha (2006)
Romantic
An orphan's love story with a son of rich businessman. This is not unusual, but I like the character of su-min, he is very natural as a straight-acting gay guy. The depiction of the sea landscape is also very representative of the story. And when the story was almost slided by a korean twist of thriller, i held my breath. Then it turns out ok. Well, I was hoping something in between of suspense and happy-ending drama, though.
Jeungin (2019)
Jung Woo-Sung is cool
I like the movie for its ambience. The autism aspect, camera works, plot, and dialogues, all create a very emotional movie. Especially the ending. And the acting of Woo-Sung is so natural. He looks gorgeous, too. A young old man, he is.
Miseongnyeon (2019)
Emotional richness
I love the movie for its display of so many opposite-attracts. All characters are derived from the deepest feeling, nothing in-between. And the gimmick is well-proportioned; the plot is well-built.
Taeksi woonjunsa (2017)
Very emotional
Song Kang-ho's acting is sooooo good. And it's nice to see Lee Jeong-eon again even with a small part here. The movie is well-written. And the heroic action of the taxi drivers, it's spot-on. Visual is also great. All in all, a very touching movie.
