In a world of volatility and hatred this show is an oasis of kindness, tolerance and humour.
Genuinely funny, you can invest your time and heart into a set of characters that are worth watching.
Sam is struggling with her grief and her sadness never totally goes but you know she's going to be ok because she's got Joel who is one of my favourite characters in any series. His ability to demonstrate love, sadness and joy is a life lesson for us all. His honesty and emotional intelligence is rarely see on TV these days- I would love to be part of his life!
Please give this low key high impact series a chance, it is not preaching tolerance it's simply showing a positive side to humanity. I only wish I could catch up with them all in a couple of years to make sure they are happy.

This film shows a sanitised version of domestic violence that is not reflective of what often happens in these relationships.
Often the abuse goes on for years and the victim is worn down by the abuser, becoming unable to see or feel what is happening to them.
The abuser rarely reflects on their own behaviour or acknowledges that what they have done is wrong and the victim is often at their most vulnerable when they decide to leave with domestic murder most likely at this stage.
People don't leave for a reason, because they are absolutely terrified, that terror doesn't stop for years.
In the film lily gets few text messages and a couple of phone calls but this is not representative of what happens to so many ( mainly women) in this position. Stalking, fear of violent retaliation and harassment is common , not wandering around markets looking mildly upset.
This film starts to highlight some important issues but it does nothing more than skim across the surface of what is going on in the real world.
It's disappointing that this opportunity was squandered and the resulting public fallout has not even begun to provide any tangible benefit to those who suffer daily at the whims of violent men.
