I felt compelled to leave a review after seeing all of these low reviews. This definitely does not deserve two or three stars. I think people didn't like the ending but to me it was based on reality.
It keeps you guessing and I didn't really honestly know what was going to be the outcome which I appreciated. The acting by Kidman and Grant was simply stellar and the supporting cast was fantastic as well. It really made you think and for that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Oh where to begin? Let me just say that the scariest thing in my mind was that I wasted 90 minutes of my life on this film (if you can call it that). Was it supposed to be scary or funny? Quite honestly it was neither. I decided to clip my toenails towards the middle because that was more entertaining. I really should have known better. Shame on me.
I think what made this an incredibly disturbing and stressful movie for me was that I could actually see something like this happening. Overall it was very well done and much better than I expected it to be, especially since it was an indie. Despite that, it had a very good production and the acting was very solid all the way around, especially by the lead actress. She was kick ass and I appreciated this. I actually had to look away a few times and I kind of got a sick feeling to my stomach, so I know that it is good because of that. To me, when a movie can bring out emotions like that it is the sign of a good movie. Other movies of the same genre didn't have as much of an impact as this did. I credit the very good direction, sound, production values, and quite good acting. I definitely won't see again because of the content, but I would definitely recommend if you want to be scared and sit on the edge of your seat.
